Cross & Crown School is dedicated to assuring that we are doing our best for our students. One of the tools for assuring how well we are doing academically is the Stanford Achievement Test. The Stanford Achievement Test is one of several that are used by schools to measure student progress. In Georgia, schools are mandated by the state to administer the CRCT (Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests). The CRCT only assesses the content of the Georgia Performance Standards approved by the Georgia Department of Education. The Stanford Achievement Test is more comprehensive in scope and is utilized at Cross & Crown each year (in April) starting with Kindergarten students. While we assure that our curriculum is (at minimum) in compliance with the Georgia Performance Standards, we choose to measure our students’ achievements at a higher level.
The test results are graded by an independent source and the group results are posted. While the tests may be graded by the school, we feel it is best to contract with an independent source that utilizes stringent security to assure the tests have not been altered and are accurately assessed. The results assist the administration and faculty in affirming the success of our program and determining where we can improve our academic performance.
Parents receive the results for their child in the form of an individualized report (similar to the group reports shown on this site). As partners with the parents in the educational process, the Cross & Crown School faculty is always available to offer guidance and counsel with suggestions for each student in order to maximize the follow up to the test results.
One of the consistent factors through the history of our school has been the test results! We do not require all of our students to be honor students prior to admission! Although we may test prospective students and/or require records from their previous school prior to acceptance, we do not single out those students who are not top performers. We desire to assure that we are able to do what is best for that individual student. With a unique blend of students, we are very proud of the fact our school places in the top percentages in the nation! The test results speak volumes!
