Introduction to Three-Year-Old Curriculum

Exposing the three-year-old child to a wide range of experiences helps pique the child’s curiosity to learn. Reading, pointing things out and showing a general interest in the world inspires a positive learning attitude in the child. Trial and error are a big part of the learning process. They encourage perseverance in the child. Play encourages exploration and makes learning fun.

At Cross & Crown School our three-year-old class curriculum is designed to help our students develop as follows:

• It covers all subject areas: language, math, science, social studies, music and art.
• It encompasses all aspects of the developmental domains: physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth.
• It enhances each of the eight multiple intelligences with the learning style preferences: linguistic, logical, spatial, kinesthetic, musical, naturalist, interpersonal and intrapersonal.

The lessons and activities are divided into ten different unit themes:

1. We Are Friends – August
2. All About Me, Five Senses – September
3. The Season – October
4. Who Is in My Family – November
5. Feelings – December
6. The People and The Animals Live In Cold Places – January
7. Our Community – February
8. Little Things (insects and bugs) – March
9. What Do We Need to Stay Healthy – April
10. Wild Animals, Farm Animals and Ocean Life – May
