Introduction to the Cross & Crown Preschool Curriculum
Children develop many academic and social skills between the ages of two and four. They discover much about their world and how it operates. They learn that they are special and important. They also learn that people must co operate and work together in order for our world to work. They develop people skills and begin to learn to take responsibility for their actions. Vocabulary develops at a rapid rate and so dose social interaction with peers and caretakers outside of the family. Friends become important. Both academic and social skills are developmental. Children need to learn certain skills before they can master other skills. Most children learn the listed materials and developmental skills at a certain age in a school year. However, all children do not develop at the same rate of speed during the year so please make allowances for some differences. The following curriculum is how we present the skills to our two through four year old children. We feel most children will acquire these skills during their preschool years.
